Gardiner, lawyer of Manlius, N.Y. The correspondence discusses banking, religious affairs, settlements of estates, a cholera epidemic, emigration to California, and farming, especially raising cotton. Included are a few papers of Judge Addison Gardiner (1797-1883), of Rochester, N.Y. The Gardiner family apparently had extensive business contacts in the South.
